Historic
of the Château de Druon
The Château de Druon was built by Fernand DRUON in 1877. This politician, born in the North of France, was the uncle of a very famous french writer, Maurice DRUON, member of the Academie Francaise, Minister of Culture under the presidency of Georges Pompidou and co-author of the "Chant des Partisans" with Joseph Kessel.
Edified during the "English Era" at the time when the Hydrotherapy in the Pyrénées was very trendy and healed Empress Eugénie and many other famous personalities and royals who gave this region its full notoriety.
Later on the Château belonged to different families and associations.
It was then derelict in the 80's, until 2006, when Elisabeth and Gilles RINGENBACH bought it and started a complete renovation until today.
It has always been a family house and this is why Elisabeth and Gilles wanted to give this charming little Château a new life as a special Guest House .
